What are your qualifications?
Thank you for seeking treatment from a fully qualified practitioner. My qualifications are:
- Diploma of Remedial Massage
- Traditional Usui Reiki – Master Level
- Facial Gua Sha Certification
- Myofascial Scraping Certification
- Flame Cupping Certification
- Pellowah Practitioner
- Umana Technique Practitioner
Do you offer Health Fund rebates?
Yes I do. While I don’t have a HICAPS machine, you will be issued an invoice to submit to your Health Fund in order to claim your rebate. I am registered with all major and most minor Health Funds
Is your Police Check, Working With Children Check, First Aid and Insurance all up to date?
Yes! In order to be a registered provider and to maintain my provider numbers and association membership, these are all required.
Do you practise trauma-informed care?
I certainly do! My goal is for you to feel better and not worse. I have completed further certification in trauma, and I also have a past career in mental health, both in hospitals and within the non clinical psychosocial rehabilitation space. However, as a Remedial Massage and Complementary Therapist, my scope of practice is working on the body, eg muscles, fascia and the body’s energy field. I am not a talk therapist or a counsellor and your time on my table is a good opportunity to get out of your head and give your nervous system a break. Clients with PTSD and C-PTSD often see me for treatments, to help manage their symptoms. If you have concerns that are outside my scope, I am more than happy to refer you to a healthcare practitioner who can help you.
What is the difference between Remedial and Relaxation Massage?
Relaxation Massage is exactly that, a nice relaxing light to medium pressure massage that encourages the body and mind to de-stress. Remedial Massage uses evidence based techniques to treat, alleviate and correct musculoskeletal pain, tension, dysfunction and/or injuries. Underwear is worn at all times for your massage and you will be professionally draped at all times.
What can I expect in a Reiki, Pellowah or Umana treatment?
You will be fully clothed on the table and a blanket will be provided so you’re nice and cozy. Reiki is a hands on or hands off treatment, or a mixture of both. Pellowah is a hands off treatment and Umana is a hands on treatment. You may enter a very relaxed or dream-like state, or you may feel energy moving through your body. Enjoy the journey!
I just want a treatment! Why do I have to fill out a form and answer your questions?
As a professional, I need to adhere to guidelines and codes of conduct regarding your health. I like to get an accurate picture of your health history and current situation. I know forms are boring, but you’ll only have to fill out the new client form once! I also do a quick but thorough assessment and consultation each time I see you, as I have a duty of care to my clients and I’d like to see how you’re progressing.
Are you Neurodivergent friendly and LGBTQIA+ friendly?
Yes! Red Amethyst Healing is a safe and inclusive space.
How do I pay for a treatment?
I have a Square terminal and I accept Bankcard, Mastercard and VISA. I do not accept AMEX.
Where are you located?
1100 High Street, Armadale – within Calma Spa. Just see the lovely ladies at reception and they’ll point you in the right direction!
